In our school, we have a school magazine that everyone loves. It comes out once a year. Students can send their own stories, jokes, riddles, poems, or drawings. But most of the time, everyone just submits drawings!
I remember two years ago, we had to submit something the next day, but I forgot all about it. At night, I suddenly remembered! It was the worst timing ever. I was so sleepy, and there was no time to draw. So I decided to write a joke instead. I thought my teacher would laugh and like it, but she didn’t. They didn’t accept my joke. I felt a little sad because I tried my best, even when I was almost falling asleep!
My brother also tried to submit his drawing, but his one got rejected too! He had drawn a cool character from the anime Jujutsu Kaisen. But he put it inside his bag full of books, and it got folded. When he took it out, it looked funny and all wrinkled. His friends laughed, and he felt embarrassed.
This time, I’m ready! I made a new painting – it’s a watercolour painting of a starry night – and I think it looks really nice. I hope they accept it this time. Fingers crossed!
