I am going to conduct the school assembly on Monday! I have to reach school early to practice before it starts. Last year, I was the one who read the speech, and it went really well. One of our teachers has a YouTube channel where he uploads our daily assemblies. So we have to do it nicely, or else it will look bad on his channel!
This time, I am the conductor, and all the other participants are girls – only I am the boy. They are all a little taller than me, so I feel a bit embarrassed about my height.
Last year, when I read the speech, my dad dropped me off at school very early – before anyone else came. I went inside alone, and I was a little scared because it was so quiet and dark. So, I turned on all the lights, and then I wasn’t scared anymore. I even shouted, “I am the king!” inside the classroom.
But just when I shouted, some students and a teacher came in! They all heard me, and I felt so embarrassed. Then, my teacher told me to come downstairs for the assembly, and I read the speech in front of everyone.
That was last year, and now I’m waiting for Monday. I’m a little nervous, but also very excited!
