• The Surprise Olympiad Day

Today something totally unexpected happened in school – we had an Olympiad exam, and no one even told us before! I didn’t bring my admit card, so for a moment I thought, “Oh no, I’m not allowed to write the exam!” Worthemso also got scared for one second, but when our teacher said it’s okay even if we forgot the admit card, we both felt normal again.

Punshiba didn’t take the Olympiad at all.

Our teacher told everyone who was writing the Olympiad to go to Class 3 Section B. So I went there, and when I saw the question paper, I got so confused. The questions were so difficult that my brain felt like it was going to explode!

After the exam, I asked my friends how many questions they answered. They said they answered all the questions. But I left six questions blank. I felt a little bad, but it’s okay – next time I will try even harder!

  • Our Annual Day Drama Adventure

We have a school function called Annual Day, and this year it’s super fun because they added lots of new events. I joined the drama, and the practice is really fun every day! Worthemso, Punshiba, and I joined drama because we didn’t have any other event to join.

This is what happens in our drama:

First, an impatient grandfather comes and plants a seed. Then he starts crying and goes away. After that, Punshiba and some other students come to water the plant. They dance for a bit and then leave. Then a few students hold flowers and sit in a square. A girl comes with a stick, stands for a while, and then goes away. Two girls come next and pluck the flowers from the students, and those students go away.

Then some woodcutters appear, but the girl chases them away. Students dressed like trees come next. The people who watered the plant come back and pretend to sleep. After that, a farmer (that’s Worthemso) comes and rests for a while. Then he goes inside, and the others follow him.

Now it’s my part. I come in acting like a kid with two of my classmates. We throw something from our pockets and look at a tree full of fruits. We try to reach a fruit, but we can’t. Suddenly, the grandfather comes back with a stick and helps us by giving us the fruits. We get very happy and go inside while eating them.

Then the air turns bad and almost poisonous, and some people wearing gas masks walk around and then leave. In the end, the grandfather comes again and dies in the middle. Some students sit around him and cover his body.

And that’s how our drama ends!

  • Buying Things for Grandma and Uncle

Yesterday was a really exciting day for me! My mom and dad went to a big shopping centre to buy things for my grandma and uncle’s new room. I asked if I could come with them, and they said yes! I was so, so happy.

But then Dad came home late from office, and both Mom and I got worried because the shop closes at 7:00 at night. We thought we wouldn’t make it. When we finally reached the store, I started putting things into the trolley like doormats, toilet items, a floor brush, plastic containers, slippers, and handkerchiefs.

When we went to the third floor, a staff member announced that the shop would close at 7:30 instead. I felt so relieved! Dad kept telling us to hurry so we wouldn’t waste time. I really wanted to buy a hoodie for myself, but they didn’t have my size. That made me a little sad.

But we bought lots of things that we needed. After paying at the billing counter, we went back home and gave everything to Grandma and Uncle. They were very happy, and that made me feel happy too.

  • The Most Confusing English Test Ever

Whenever we had a big exam at school, the girl who sat next to me always turned around and asked me, “What is the answer to this?” She did it in almost every exam, and sometimes I didn’t even get time to think before she asked again. When the teachers gave us the question papers, I tried to look at all the questions very carefully. Sometimes I even wrote small notes or answers on my rough sheet so I wouldn’t forget, and later I could copy them if I needed.

One day, we had an English test, and it was the most confusing test I ever saw. The questions were so strange. I had never seen anything like them in my textbooks or homework. Everyone around me looked worried and kept turning pages again and again. Even I felt a little scared.

But then I decided to write an imaginary answer because I didn’t know what else to do. After the exam, my friend Paikhomba told me that he also wrote an imaginary answer because he didn’t understand it either. That made me feel a little better. But my other friend, Punshiba, said he just left the question blank because he had no idea what to write.

All of this made me even more confused, and I kept wondering how the teacher would mark our answers. But later, when I got full marks, I felt really happy – even though the whole test still felt like a big mystery to me.

  • Grandma’s New Room on the First Floor

Today, something exciting happened at home. Our grandma and uncle shifted their room to the first floor. Ever since we moved our room to the top floor, the first floor has been empty. Grandma and uncle were living downstairs on the ground floor, but today they finally moved up.

When I came back from school, I saw my mom and dad in grandma’s new room. They were telling her that the new mattresses for the bed will be delivered soon from the shop. The whole room looked very clean and fresh. The walls were newly painted, the tiles were shining, and even the two bathrooms looked very nice. In one bathroom there are two showers! One is the normal shower and the other one is a handheld shower. I thought that was really cool.

I asked my mom when grandma and uncle moved upstairs, and she said they shifted around 11 AM while I was in school. After that, mom and dad went back to their office again, and I waved goodbye to them.

  • My Dad’s Long Trip for Our Paddy

Today is Sunday and I didn’t go to my Art Class because I am sick. When I woke up, it was already late. Mom and Dad were talking about how to make our house better. I was so tired I fell asleep again and woke up five minutes later! Then I quickly brushed my teeth and went downstairs to talk to Mom while she was cooking.

Suddenly, Baruka the cat jumped out of nowhere and scared me for a second!

Today Dad had to go to our farmer’s place, about forty kilometers away, to get our yearly share of paddy from our rice field. He went in his car, and a truck followed him to bring the rice bags home. It took almost three hours because they had to stop at two of our relatives’ houses to give them their share first.

After some time, the truck finally reached our gate with our paddy. It was very dusty, so I ran upstairs so I wouldn’t get dirty!

  • No Footballs, No Homework

My brother Pravin is going to a place called “Langol” to play football with his friends today. He was getting really tired of staying indoors all the time. We used to have lots of footballs at home, and we always played together. But one day, when I was kicking the ball, I accidentally kicked it onto a metal sheet. The sides were very sharp, and our ball got punctured!

Now Dad doesn’t want to buy new things because he is trying to save money so he can renovate our house. So we don’t have any footballs left.

The worst part is that I have to stay alone upstairs today. My brother will be in Langol playing football, and my parents will only return from their offices in the evening.

But there is also one good thing! I don’t have to study at all because our teachers didn’t give us any homework after the exams ended yesterday. So I can relax and do whatever I want!

  • Exams, Freedom, and a Runny Nose

I didn’t write any stories for the past two weeks because we had our exams. Our exams finally got over today! The sad thing is we didn’t even get any study leave. It started on Monday, 10/11/2025, and ended today, Saturday. When the exams were over, our class captain shouted, “Exam finished means freedom!!” And he was totally right.

The exams went on for a whole week, and now we finally get a perfect holiday tomorrow, on Sunday. But the bad part is… I got sick. I think I know why. November is winter, but I still wear short pants because I feel hot. But now the weather is getting colder and colder.

Also, when I sleep, I keep kicking off my blanket without knowing. Maybe it happens when I’m dreaming. I usually dream about running away from ghosts or going on adventures, so maybe that’s why my legs are moving!

  • The Day My Crocs Went Missing!

Today was a super rainy day. The clouds were roaring so loud, like giants fighting in the sky! Our porch was so wet that when my dirty feet touched it, I could see my footprints everywhere.

My brother Pravin was very worried. He said I am the most unlucky person in our house. He thought that if I went downstairs, I would slip and fall as the stairs were already wet. Only my brother could go upstairs on the terrace to collect clothes that Mom hung for drying.

My brother and I were cleaning the porch. I tried to help, but I accidentally kept stepping on the wet places he had already cleaned. He was not happy. Then something funny and bad happened. When he was mopping, the wiper flipped and hit one of my Crocs! My Crocs bounced down the stairs like boing-boing-boing, and then they fell down and inside the neighbour’s dog cage!

I was stuck. No Crocs. No going downstairs. My brother searched everywhere, but he couldn’t find another pair. I was so stressed.

After that, the power went off. So I couldn’t even watch TV. Worst day ever! My brother told Mom I needed a new pair.

In the evening, Dad, my brother, and I went to the shop and bought new chappals for me. But Dad looked like he was not very happy about buying new ones. Maybe he thinks I lose things too much. But it was not my fault this time! Anyway, now I have new chappals. And I am never to lose them again.

  • The Boy Who Finds Everything!

When I was a little kid, I always played outside in the hot, hot sun. Before I went out to play in summer, my mom always put sunscreen on me. I didn’t like it but she said it’s important so I don’t get burned like a toast!

A few months ago, me and my grandmother were planting seeds. She told me to dig some soil from the pot and she said she will put new soil later. While I was digging, I suddenly saw something shiny. I washed it and guess what? It was my brother Pravin’s marble! He lost it many years ago. I felt like a treasure hunter! We were planting pea seeds, but when our internet went out one time, my plants became dry and the seeds didn’t grow. That made me sad.

The second treasure I found was also a marble. I lost it about a year ago and it rolled inside a very tight space. Today I saw it again and I quickly took it out because if I forget again, then poof! It will be gone forever.

The third treasure was a yellow ring. I found it when I was going upstairs with Mom and Dad to talk about our home renovation. But I lost the ring again. I don’t even know where it went this time!

The fourth treasure was another ring. I found it in my school playground. I was talking to my friends, and then I looked down and saw something on the ground. I shouted, “I found something!” All my friends came running, and they were all very excited. It was a ring again! Everyone was surprised.

I think I am very good at finding treasures. Maybe one day I will find gold or diamonds!
