• The Day the Workers Came to Our House

It was during my winter vacation when Dad hired some construction workers to make our house bigger. He said we would have two more floors upstairs and more space to play! When the workers arrived, Mom gave them hot tea because it was very cold.

At first, I felt shy when they tried to talk to me. I just ran away and hid. Dad told me, “Talk with them, they just want friendship.” So, I tried. And you know what? Dad was right! They were really nice. After work, they came downstairs and played football with me. I had so much fun!

My brother Pravin was sleeping like always – he slept in the afternoon every day! While he slept, I watched TV and texted Dad. Later, I woke him up and went downstairs to practice my football skills. After that, I came back and studied.

It was a really good day, and now I’m not shy anymore!

  • The Crazy Rainy Month of June!

June is the month when it rains like crazy! The rain keeps pouring and pouring until the river gets so full that it overflows. The roads look like swimming pools, and even the cars start to float like little boats!

Sometimes, the rain is super cold, but when I go inside the house, it suddenly feels very hot. My aunt’s house got filled with so much water that even her fridge started floating away! It was so funny – the fridge went out of the house and got stuck somewhere else. My uncle’s house also turned into a mini swimming pool!

But don’t even think of surfing in the flood water – it’s brown and dirty, and it can make you really sick. Still, June is always a month full of stories to tell, and every rain feels like an adventure!

  • My Winter Vacation Adventure!

Winter vacation is my most favourite holiday ever!
I love wearing my woollen clothes because they are so warm and soft. When I wear my hoodie, I feel like I’m chilling on a beach – but it’s cold instead of sunny!

The only thing I don’t like about winter vacation is doing assignments. They are sooo boring!

My friend Zeeshan went to Delhi for his holidays. He had so much fun that he almost forgot to do his homework! When he came back, he had only three days left, and he was really worried.

I already finished all my homework, so I was just playing games and relaxing.

Then Zeeshan sent me a message on WhatsApp. He said,
“Please help me, Nitish! I need to print pictures of rivers and water sources for my science homework!”

But oh no! Our printer had no ink left!

So I couldn’t help him. Poor Zeeshan! Then he called Punshiba, and he helped him print everything.

Zeeshan finally finished his homework on time. Phew!

Winter vacation is so much fun – warm clothes, tasty food, games, and funny moments like this!
I can’t wait for my next winter vacation!

  • My First Visit to the Zoo!

Today was super fun! We went to the zoo for the first time! My father had taken leave from his work that day, and I was so excited because I had never been to a zoo before. After lunch, we packed some snacks and left.

When we reached, my father, my brother Pravin, and I got the tickets and saw some students from our school hostel on a leisure trip.

But something sad happened – some animals had died in a big flood that happened a few months ago. A python died too. The monkeys were still there, though! Everyone was giving them bread even though the rule said no feeding to the animals! The monkeys were so naughty – they just snatched food from people’s hands!

There was also one kid crying sooo loudly. Anyway, we saw many deer and took lots of pictures.

Then we went to the playground! There was a slide, a merry-go-round, and a see-saw! At first, I was shy to go on the slide, but my brother said, “Don’t be shy!” So I waited for my turn… but I got too impatient and cut the line!

    It was SO MUCH FUN!!!

  • My Two Cute Cats – Baruka and Dora!

Baruka is my cat… well, actually, she’s also our neighbour’s cat! She is a pretty female cat, and Dora is a small male kitty. They both always follow me around everywhere I go, meowing and begging for food.

I really love Baruka and Dora. Whenever I see them, I can’t stop myself from feeding them! Sometimes I give them big pieces of fish so their tummies get full. I do it to distract them too, because if I don’t, they follow me all the way upstairs!

When I’m at school, they go to my neighbour’s house, and guess what? The neighbours feed them too! Isn’t that nice? Baruka and Dora are the luckiest cats ever!

  • The Scrap Collector Scam!

One afternoon, when Mom and Dad were at work, Grandma and Uncle were busy cleaning the house. I was happily riding my bicycle around when suddenly the scrap collector, who hadn’t come for three weeks, showed up at our gate.

He usually takes all our old metal things and pays a little money for them. But this time, he tried to be sneaky! He almost took away some shiny iron rods that my dad had bought just yesterday for our new house construction. Those rods were important!

Grandma didn’t see it at first, but then she noticed and stopped him. He was supposed to pay Rs.150 for the scrap, but he tried to give only Rs.100! Grandma got really angry and started arguing with him. I stood there watching, thinking, “Oh no, he’s in trouble now!”

After some loud bargaining, Grandma took the money and told him to get out of our house. The scrap collector left quickly, and I couldn’t stop laughing. Grandma is truly the boss!

  • The Funny and Scary Dream

One night, I had a really bad dream. It was scary but also kind of funny!

In my dream, me and my brother Pravin went inside a haunted house. It was so dark and creepy. We both were super scared. Suddenly, my brother started running away! I shouted, “What’s wrong?” and he screamed, “Look in front of you!”

When I looked, I saw a piano flying straight at me! It hit my head – bonk! My brother kept screaming, “AAAHH!” and all the ghosts got attracted to the noise. I got so mad that I yelled at him, “What is wrong with you?!”

He pointed behind me and said, “There’s a bunch of ghosts following us!” I was so scared!

Then suddenly, I woke up – but I was still inside my dream! I saw my dad and my uncle talking in the living room. That’s when I really woke up for real!

It was the weirdest and funniest scary dream I ever had.

  • A Day at the Statue Park

    Hi everyone!
It was my summer vacation, and we were deciding where to go. I said, “Can we go to the USA?”
    Mom said, “No.”
Then Dad said, “How about we go and see some statues?”
    Mom said, “Yes, let’s go!”

It was only a 30-minute trip, so we packed some snacks and left. When we reached the place, we bought our tickets and went inside. The first thing I saw was a big statue. There were many kids trying to ride a horse statue – they looked like kindergartners! I didn’t ride the horse though.

When I looked up, I saw a huge statue of a man riding a horse. It looked amazing! My parents were standing in the shade while I went around taking pictures of the statues and the horses. Then my brother Pravin and I saw something interesting, so we ran to tell our parents.

When they followed us, they were surprised – there was a small hill leading to a little house! There were benches for people to sit and rest. My mom and dad started filming a video of me and my brother climbing the hill. My brother was struggling a bit, and I ran fast at first, which was a bad idea because I quickly got tired! But I still managed to reach the top before him.

At the top, we found benches, and lots of people were sitting there. We sat too and got some ice cream! It was so cool and windy up there. Later, some people started going down the hill, and we also decided to head home.

While going downhill, Mom and Dad walked slowly, but me and my brother ran ahead. I tried to explore some more places but didn’t find anything interesting.

When we got into the car, me and brother fell asleep right away. Mom and Dad talked quietly while driving home. It was such a fun day!

  • My Family and the Things I Love

Hi! My name is Nitish. I want to tell you a little about me and my family.

I really love posters! I have some hanging in my room, and I can look at them all day. My brother Pravin loves football. One time, he accidentally made a hole in his ball, and now he can’t play. He really wants a new one!

My dad dreams of buying a new car. He works very hard to make money, but he and my mom also have to pay for our school and the van fees.

My clothes are getting small because I’m growing taller. Even my pants feel tight now! I also get mosquito bites on my legs sometimes, and they are so annoying!

My hobbies are drawing and listening to music. My uncle likes reading and listening to music too. My grandfather passed away some years ago, and that still makes me feel sad.

I love spending time with my friends and family. My mom is the most hardworking person I know. She washes clothes almost every day and only gets a little free time on Sunday night.

That’s my family! I love them all very much.

  • The Day We Shifted Our Room to the Top Floor

Mom told us to pack all the stuff that we need because we are moving our room to the top floor.

My brother is packing all the clothes that our family needs. I packed my brother’s books along with mine. Meanwhile, my dad is talking to somebody, and my mom is washing the dishes. We have no idea how to carry our two beds because the beds are bigger than the door. Our dad is calling the construction workers for help. My mom and I are carrying my study table, and my brother carries a chair to our new room. The construction workers show up at our gate and talk with my dad. Turns out the two beds fit through the door, and we called some people to carry the beds, and some are carrying the new washing machine that just arrived. We almost forgot an important thing. The fridge!
